Superb Saturday

Both of my fans have asked what happened to my blog. The short answer is life. With its twists and turns, the blog has had to take a breather. Today seemed a good day to return since it is a Saturday as Saturdays were meant to be.

It started with the invitation to watch youngest son Mark play a doubles tennis match at a local court. This always brings back memories of leaving my elementary school after a day with second graders, dropping by the local Dairy Queen for a couple of milk shakes, and continuing on to his high school matches. Today’s match had a few differences. No school honor was at stake in the win/loss columns. All four of the men had gray hair or none at all.

The weather was great with a 77° temperature accompanied by a gentle breeze. Mark and his partner Mike lost the first set, but came back to win the second and the ten point tie-breaker. He made sure I was alerted to the results on the marker with his pair marked by the tennis ball on the left of the scorepost.

Back at home, there was my current jigsaw puzzle with the end pieces ready to start while the BIG event begins. Lest you have missed it, today is the first Saturday of all day football beginning at 11 AM Central Time.  With neither of my teams in the daytime games (Ole Miss and Baylor, if you are new to this blog), I have been flipping to find the best game. Maybe that was the Vanderbilt win in overtime against Virginia Tech.

As for the blog, if you were wondering like my other two fans, it is not lost but may not be as frequent in coming days as life continues to twist and turn, throwing a few curve balls as it goes.
